Yoshi info

Yoshi's trademarks are his long sticky tongue, his green-spotted eggs, his speech, and his jump. Yoshis can come in a variety of colors, though the most prominently featured Yoshis are almost always green. The character's debut appearance in Super Mario World featured blue, red, and yellow variations. Later games included additional colors such as pink, black, and orange. In Super Mario World for the SNES, different colors of Yoshi had different abilities, such as fire-breathing and flying, with red Yoshis breathing fire whenever they ate a Koopa Shell, blue flying, and yellow shooting a deadly dust storm out of their feet. Yoshis are often shown living in villages with a few wooden constructions. Their social structure is developed and organized, as they are shown living together in settlements, having meetings and working together. Yoshi has many different abilities which are useful whenever Mario or another hero is riding him. Yoshi's special jump, called the flutter jump (first introduced in Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island), allows him to wave his arms and legs in the air to stay afloat, making his jumps longer and higher. His long tongue allows him to swallow many things (particularly small enemies) and use them to lay eggs which he can throw at targets to complete puzzles. If he eats something that is too big to swallow, such as a Koopa shell, he can spit it out.In Super Mario Galaxy 2, his tongue has further uses, such as pulling handles or swinging in midair. Yoshi can eat one of three special fruits to give him a special ability (represented by a temporary color change): a blue fruit that allows him to blow air to fly upwards; a red fruit that causes him to run fast and scale up walls; and a yellow fruit that causes him to glow, lighting platforms that are only tangible when visible.
Yoshi has a very large family and lots of friends, which is not surprising, as almost everyone likes Yoshi for his kind, generous, playful and bubbly character. He lives alone in a little cottage near Yoshi Star Galaxy and you will pass his house when playing Super Mario Galaxy 2. His favourite activities are sleeping, eating, helping friends, going to the cinema, drawing and car racing. Probably one of his best known appearances is in Yoshi's Island, residence of most of his family and friends. The story is.. long ago Mario and his friends were young babies but Kamek, Bowser's helper, sense that Mario and Luigi would cause 'trouble' when they grew up, but he did not know who they were, so he kidnapped babies from all over Nitendo Planet, the planet where the Mario and Sonic characters lived. However, his helpers, the Toadies, dropped several babies, including Baby Mario and Baby Peach. So, the Yoshi helped and protected the babies and defeated Kamek, who gave up. Now he wishes he had not given up trying to destroy the babies, but it would have been terrible if he did!

Meet Yoshi's best friend!

Mario is a fictional character in his eponymous video game series, created by Japanese video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto. Serving as Nintendo's mascot and the main protagonist of the series, Mario has appeared in over 200 video games since his creation. Though originally only appearing in platform games, starting with Donkey Kong, he appears in wide variety of game themes.
Mario is depicted as a short, pudgy, Italian-American plumber who lives in the Mushroom Kingdom. He repeatedly stops the turtle-like villain Bowser's numerous plans to kidnap Princess Peach and subjugate the Mushroom Kingdom. He also has other enemies and rivals, including Donkey Kong and Wario. Since 1995, Mario has been voiced by Charles Martinet.
As Nintendo's mascot, Mario is arguably the most famous character in video game history, and his image is commonly associated with video games. Mario games, as a whole, have sold more than 210 million units, making the Mario series the best-selling video game series of all time. Outside platform games, he has appeared in video games of other genres, including the Mario Kart racing series, sports games, such as the Mario Tennis and Mario Golf series, and role-playing games such as Paper Mario and Super Mario RPG. He has also inspired television shows, film, comics, and a line of licensed merchandise-a veeeeeeeeeeerrrry long line, that is.

One of Yoshi's friends

Luigi is portrayed as the taller, younger brother of Mario, and he is usually seen dressed in green with overalls. Although Luigi is a plumber, like his brother, other facets of his personality vary from game to game. Luigi always seems nervous and timid but is good-natured and not as quick to anger as his more famous twin.
While it has not been made official, Daisy may be Luigi's romantic interest. They were a romantic couple in the film  and in Mario Kart Wii they are seen in statue dancing together.  She was his caddy in NES Open Tournament Golf as Peach was to Mario. Also on Daisy's trophy in Super Smash Bros. Melee, it says that she is possibly Luigi's answer to Mario's Peach. So Luigi may not be as popular but without him, Yoshi and Mario would definitely have more problems.
